In a multi-year process, CWS staff and board members joined with representatives of partner organizations with which CWS works in ministry around the world, in the CWS Partnership Study.
As part of the Partnership Study, CWS held consultations in the different regions of the world where we engage in ministry. These consultations have provided information about the different cultural and faith understandings of partnership in the regions where CWS works, and how partnerships for ministry can be built that embody these understandings.
During consultations, participants shared together about the challenges they faced in their own contexts. These challenges included social and physical reconstruction after disasters and civil conflicts, persistent poverty and/or economic crises, and more. Participants shared their organizations' responses to these challenges, and the ways in which their relationship with CWS could strengthen those responses. Participants also shared ways in which they could work together to strengthen their own work, and ways they could assist CWS in its education and advocacy work in the United States.
