In a coalition effort, Church World Service is assisting displaced and vulnerable people in the Darfur region of western Sudan with:
- essential household items – blankets, cooking
sets, water containers, mosquito nets, soap, and plastic sheets and mats - health education and clinics
- wells and latrines construction and rehabilitation
- seeds, tools, and tree seedlings, particularly for
woman-headed households - supplementary food for at-risk children,
pregnant and lactating mothers - school construction and rehabilitation
- adult education and livelihood training
- peacebuilding and trauma counseling
As insecurity continues, a concern that the 'Darfur problem' is broader than Sudan
